A hearty welcome to SanDee&amelie's challenge blog!

Please, note, that this challenge blog is not related to any business and run without any profit by people, who do this for your and their own leisure time fun! Our only reward are your encouraging comments and your playing along and sharing steampunk fun and mixed media techniques. We appreciate every single entry and comment so much! Thank you for taking the time!

If you are new to this place, please, know that we are so glad that you stopped by our little steampunk corner!
Whether you are a dedicated tag or card maker, art journaler or mixed media lover - this might be the right place for you!
For more information about the rules and the little "steampunk/industrial twist" we ask of you, please check the "about" stuff and then simply jump in and create!

If you are new to steampunk and not sure if this is "your thing", maybe take a look at our winners gallery on pinterest (use the linking button on our side bar). You will find that we're mainly a mixed media challenge blog with a little twist towards steampunk, industrial and/or vintage. So why not give it a try?

We are looking forward to seeing your fab projects entered to one of our challenges soon!

Hugs,

SASPC 2018 April - Mid Month Reminder

Hi, servus and welcome to the second round up of inspirational makes for our April challenge, which is - as always - an

Anything Goes - Steampunk/Industrial

themed one. We will also be announcing the Top5 and prize winners from our March challenge, but before I do so, I would like to invite you to also check out the makes of Team A (if you haven't done so already) after you have read this post and taken a look at the wonderful projects of my lovely ladies from Team B! And if you can spare a second, please, visit their blogs and leave them a short comment to let them know that their work is appreciated. You will also find more images and sometimes info on the how-tos on my teamies' blogs - so that's well worth a visit, isn't it?

The challenge is open until the end of the month and by playing along (and following our few simple rules) you become eligible for winning one of our two monthly prizes, being sponsored by

and

.

I use random.org to pick our two winners among all proper entries and the team and I pick our favourite makes from each challenge in a ranked voting (which is mostly a love-hate thingie for us, as we love all your projects, but we also know that a bit of a stimulus like that makes challenges more interesting to many).

is kicking off this second round up
with a lovely rusted looking canvas she created
using DecoArt media and boozybear products

started imagining that the Steampunk Universe might have come through a time rift....

...and I think she may have a point there. Looks pretty reasonable to me!

latest project is called
"Change of Times"

- two Artist Trading Blocks she has altered using
a faux rust technique alongside a lot of other
highly textural mixed media techniques to create
a "wild mix of colours, textures and patterns"

and last but not least my project
for your inspiration:

As you can see I am still into ATCs - but how can I quit doing them when there are so many great ATC blanks (like this one from Calico Craft Parts) out there, waiting for me to be used alongside some beautiful vintage ephemera?

And with the help of a few DecoArt media products and paints turning these into rusty goodness is so much fun and so easy! "Dem Ingenieur ist nichts zu schwör", as we like to say in German (=there's nothing the engineer can't do). ;) . So check out my short tutorial on my blog (and don'r forget to visit my teamies' blogs as well for more information on their beautiful projects!).

SanDee&amelie's April 2018 Challenge - Part One

Servus, hi, happy Easter and welcome to our first challenge round for April, dear mixed media steampunk and industrial style friends!

Our April challenge is - as usual - an

Anything Goes - Steampunk/Industrial

themed challenge and all kinds of projects (except digitally created ones) are welcome! So show us your tags, cards, art journal pages, canvases, altered objects, drawings, paintings, sketches....whatever you're up to as long as it fits our challenge themes steampunk or industrial.

And our generous and wonderful prize sponsors DecoArt media and boozybear  are with us again of course!

Proud and happy to be

After the challenge has ended, I will randomly pick two winners among all proper entries (so make sure you follow our few rules), who either get a fab DecoArt media prize bundle or a surprise steampunk chipboard package.

Prize winners and Top5 of the previous month's challenge will be announced mid month, on the 15th, when we will also be sharing the makes of Team B!

But for now let's open the stage for my team A ladies and their makes!

created a fantastic steampunk collage piece with DecoArt media products

created an Art Deco piece using one of Mucha's designs. She created
great texture and an aged effect using DecoArt media products to add to the style of Mucha's
beautiful image.

I also like that stand she created! Such a great idea!

created an industrial canvas with a glass pendant as a focal piece.
The pendant was originally meant to be a photo frame,
but it looks perfect on her make, doesn't it?

"Steampunk Patchwork" tag has loads of awesome texture and rust!!! Wow!

And I love that tiny heart she has incorporated!

As I already said - more inspiration and the announcement of our March Top5 and prize winners will come up on the 15th. We hope to see you then and of course to see you play along in the meantime.

The challenge is - as always - open until the end of the month and you can enter up to three different projects.

Hugs and happy crafting!
